P510K ‘shabu’ seized, 2 high-value targets nabbed in Dumangas drug bust

ILOILO — Police operatives apprehended two high-value suspects and seized approximately P510,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation on Thursday afternoon, July 9, in Barangay Pulao, Dumangas town.The suspects were identified by their aliases “Hulsey,” 43, and “Samuel,” 36. Both are unemployed residents of Dumangas.

According to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), the sting operation took place at around 1:56 p.m. and was jointly executed by the Dumangas Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group–Special Operations Unit 6.

Recovered from the suspects were seven heat-sealed and one knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing around 75 grams of suspected shabu. Also seized were the buy-bust money and non-drug-related items.

Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño, acting PRO-6 director, lauded the operating units for their precision, noting that the arrest stems from a continuous, intelligence-driven campaign across the region.

“This operation is another clear result of focused intelligence, proper coordination, and decisive police action,” stated Tuaño. “PRO-6 will continue to pursue drug personalities with discipline, accountability, and a firm commitment to uphold the rule of law. We also call on the public to remain vigilant and help us protect our communities by reporting illegal drug activities.”

The suspects were detained at the Dumangas MPS. They face criminal charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
