ILOILO City – A man surrendered to the police station of Ajuy, Iloilo his gun. His gun license already expired.
According to 74-year-old Severino Banasig of Barangay Culasi, Ajuy, his gun license expired on Feb. 16, 2014 yet.
He did not say why it took him nearly three years to surrender his 12-gauge shotgun with serial number 0187301.
The Ajuy police station secured Banasig’s firearm on Dec. 20. They also did not detain him.
Banasig’s decision to voluntarily surrender his gun saved him the trouble of having to face a charge for illegal gun possession (violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)./PN
