BACOLOD City – Two illegal drug suspects were shot in a police operation in Barangay Bagawines, Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental.
George Paras and Jose Montemayor, both residents of Barangay Poblacion, Vallehermoso, resisted arrest and tried to shoot the arresting officers led by Senior Police Officer 4 Cerilo Cañete on Tuesday.
Police fired at the suspects to defend themselves, regional police spokesperson Chief Inspector Dianne Grace Catedral said in a text message.
Two .38 revolvers, nine ammunition and two heat-sealed plastic packs of suspected shabu were seized from the suspects, who were taken to a nearby hospital./PN
