ILOILO City – A farmer was shot in Barangay Misi, Lambunao, Iloilo over a chainsaw.

The 52-year-old Rogelio Prado was rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center on Wednesday due to a gunshot wound on the back.

The suspect has been identified as Opong Mamon of Barangay Panuran, Lambunao.

Police said Mamon went to Prado’s house around 11:45 p.m. and asked for the chainsaw the victim borrowed.

When Prado returned the chainsaw, some parts were damaged. The suspect got irked and this led to an argument.

The suspect took his 12-gauge shotgun then shot the victim from behind, police said.

As of this writing, it was unclear if the police were able to locate Mamon who fled after shooting Prado./PN
