MANILA – Filipino booter Jarvey Gayoso will take his talent to Thailand following a strong showing in the recent 2020 Philippines Football League (PFL) with the Azkals Development Team.

Azkals head coach Scott Cooper said the former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles standout is set to formalize his move with Thai League powerhouse Muangthong United.

According to Cooper, the move augurs well for Gayoso’s development as a player since Muangthong United is one of the established football clubs in Thailand.

“It’s not over the line yet, but it’s close and it’s an excellent move for him,” said the Azkals mentor.

“I think it’s a great step up for him to go to the Thai League,” added Cooper. “He’s being picked up as a midfielder which was where he ended up in his stint at ADT. I think we finally found the right position for him.”

At Muangthong United, Gayoso will reunite with former Philippine Azkals mainstay Daisuke Sato, who has been with the team for two years now./PN
