KALIBO, Aklan – Four municipal governments and a state university were rated “good,” while a water district was scored “excellent” in the 2016 Civil Service Commission (CSC) Report Card Survey.
The CSC Report Card Survey was aimed at checking compliance with Republic Act 9685, or the Anti-Red Tape Act. The commission surveyed local governments and government offices from March to December 2016.
Malay got a rating of 86.66. Kalibo had 85.15; New Washington, 84.15; and Banga, 83.16 — all equivalent to “good.”
The CSC rated 597 first- and sixth-class towns in terms of the issuance of licenses and business permits and the delivery of civil registry and health services.
Also rating “good” were two campuses of the Aklan State University — Banga (83.62) and Kalibo (85.38).
Fifty-three state universities and colleges were surveyed for their delivery of student and registrar services.
Meanwhile Metro Kalibo Water District got a rating of 92.59 (“excellent”) to rank No. 6 out of the 213 surveyed water districts across the country.
Silay City Water District in Negros Occidental topped the survey with a rating of 92.92.
The CSC partners with the National Competitiveness Council in using iARTA as a tool to improve global competitiveness ranking in support of the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.
The Plan envisions a “citizen-centered, clean and efficient delivery of public goods and services.” (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
