Aklan gets new schools chief

KALIBO, Aklan – Dr. Feliciano Candolesas Buenafe Jr. is the new officer-in-charge of the Office of Aklan schools division superintendent this June.

Buenafe, the Roxas City Schools Division superintendent, replaces Aklan Schools Division superintendent Dr. Miguel Mac Aposin.

Aposin will be reassigned to his home province Capiz as Schools Division superintendent after spending more than two years in Aklan.

Aposin took over the helm of the Aklan Schools Division from then school superintendent Dr. Salvador Ochavo Jr. in October 2019.

The Department of Education in Western Visayas is currently reshuffling schools division superintendents of Aklan, Roxas City, Iloilo City, Silay City, Capiz, and Iloilo Divisions – Dr. Ma. Luz Delos Reyes to Iloilo Division, Dr. Roel Bermejo to Roxas City Division, Dr. Novelyn Vilchez to Iloilo City Division and Ochavo to Silay City Division.

Prior to his assignment in Roxas City Division, Buenafe was also designated officer-in-charge assistant schools division superintendent in Antique, assistant schools division superintendent in Passi City Division, and schools division superintendent in Himamaylan City Division.

In Aklan, Buenafe will oversee the operations of 19 districts, 320 public elementary schools, 80 public secondary schools and 87 private schools./PN
