MANILA – Philippine Air Force Lady Jet Spikers cruised to its second win in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference. It defeated Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 26-24, 14-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-7 at the San Juan Arena.

Aklanon Dell Palomata tallied 16 points on Wednesday while Angel Antipuesto submitted the same output. The Lady Jet Spikers improved to 2-5 win-loss record tying its victim Flying Titans. Initially, it seemed headed to defeat after being down 12-19 in the fourth set until Palomata and Antipuesto spearheaded the uprising and force a fifth and deciding set.


The momentums continued for the Lady Jet Spikers in the fifth set with a 9-2 start on service aces and later build a 10-4 advantage before holding off the Flying Titans’ attempt to comeback in the game.


“Sabi ko sa kanila hindi tayo pwedeng parang diesel [sa fifth set]. Kailangan ilayo natin kung maaari,” said Air Force coach Jasper Jimenez. “’Di tayo pwedeng dumikit dito kasi ang kompyansa niyan kailangan mabalik natin.”


Kat Tolentino tallied 30 points while Arriana Angustia and Maddie Madayag combined for 25 markers and Shiela Pineda had 41 digs for Choco Mucho.


Meanwhile, PacificTown-Army Lady Troopers tallied its second straight win after beating Bali Pure Water Defenders, 25-17, 25-16, 27-25. Honey Royce Tubino and Lutgarda Malaluan had 23 points combined for the 4-3 Lady Troopers./PN
