PH Football: Air Force prevails over global Makati

MANILA – Philippine Air Force notched its third win in the 2019 Philippines Football League via a 4-1 victory over Global Makati FC at the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa, Batangas.


Joel Bedia came up with two late goals on Wednesday while Negrense Jalor Soriano and Vince Braga added one each.

With the win, the Air Force tied Mendiola at fifth spot (11 points on three wins, two draws and 13 losses).


With both teams struggling with their offense early, the Philippine Air Force was able to break the deadlock just before the halftime break. Soriano converted at the 42nd minute.


The lead was tripled for the Philippine Air Force at the onset of the second half. Braga and Bedia converted one goal each at the 64th and 67th minute of the game.


Global Makati was able to pull one back at the 72nd minute of the match courtesy of Kennedy Uzoka, but Bedia restored Philippine Air Force’s three-goal edge with his 88th minute hit.


Following the defeat, the Global-Makati slumped further in the standings with just five points, on one win, two deadlocks and 12 losses./PN
