Aklan – This province’s top 2 most wanted person for the crime of rape was arrested at Sector 2, Barangay Mabilo, New Washington town, on February 27.
The accused identified as alias “Ren,” 39 years old, laborer, and a resident of Kalibo, Aklan, was collared at around 6:50 p.m. by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Branch 3, Regional Trial Court, Sixth Judicial Region on February 24, 2026, with no bail recommended.
The arrest was executed by the New Washington Municipal Police Station (MPS) in cooperation with the Aklan Maritime Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and Aklan Police Provincial Office’s Tracker Team.
Western Visayas police chief, Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, commended the arresting units for the successful operation.
“This arrest demonstrates our unwavering commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure the safety of our communities. We commend our operating units for their dedication, coordination, and relentless efforts in bringing the accused to justice. Rest assured, we will continue to pursue individuals who evade the law and ensure that justice is served for their victims,” said Ligan.
