BACOLOD City – A suspected leader of an organized crime group in southern Negros Occidental was arrested in Barangay Pahanocoy.
Ritchie “Ritching” Villanueva, a 35-year-old resident of Barangay Baclao, Cauayan town, allegedly heads the Villanueva group, police said.
Most of the crimes he was charged with — murder, frustrated murder and robbery-holdup — were committed in Sipalay City and Cauayan and Ilog towns, police added.
Operatives from Police Station 8 and Cauayan police station arrested the suspect on Wednesday. The father of one of the suspected members of the Villanueva group pointed his location, the officers said.
Police served him a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 61 (Kabankalan City) Judge Rodney Magbanua and dated June 6, 2016.
Villanueva, who reportedly stayed and worked here for about eight months prior to his arrest, yielded a loaded .45 firearm (serial number 12865), two magazines and a silencer./PN
