Animal Hub formally turned over to NegOcc

BACOLOD City – The controversial Negros First Animal Hub, located inside the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, has been formally turned over to the provincial government on Tuesday.

Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said the facility was donated by the contractor, Eva Resoor.

Lacson’s endorsement to approve and sign Resoor’s Deed of Donation was recently tackled by the provincial board.

Resoor earlier admitted that she was responsible for the building’s construction and that she will donate the facility to the provincial.

In October last year, Resoor was suspended by the provincial government from participating in any provincial government projects for six months to one year.

Resoor did not indicate who gave them permission to construct the Animal Hub.

The P4-million facility became controversial after I Watch Negros Occidental Inc. found the construction project did not undergo a bidding process.

The structure was already between 80 to 90 percent complete when construction was halted due to an investigation.

The facility includes animal pens with rails, a drainage system, auctioneer’s bleachers, and an administration building./PN
