SAN JOSE, Antique – Another Antiqueño soldier died fighting local terrorists in Marawi City.
Private First Class Arth Ronald Vio Manalang, 32, of Barangay Padang in this capital town died of multiple gunshot wounds around 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 29.
Manalang, a member of the 5th Scout Ranger Company of the Philippine Army, died along with four others after members of the Maute group burned their hideouts and fired at them.
Manalang was living in Mindanao with his wife Arianne Mae of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, according to aunt Salvacion Forasteros.
Manalang and Arianne Mae have a daughter, Forasteros added.
He is the third Antiqueño soldier who died in Marawi. The others were Sergeant Chris Lorenzo of Barangay Camansijan, Culasi and Private First Class Argie Harliga of Barangay Mapatag, Hamtic./PN
