ILOILO City – Fire struck four houses in Barangay Calajunan, Mandurriao, right next to the Forest Lake Memorial Park.
As of this writing, the Iloilo City Fire Station was still investigating what caused the blaze around 8:43 p.m. on Monday – four days after a bigger fire hit barangays Bakhaw and Bolilao in the same district.
Three residents and a fire officer were injured during the fire, the fire station said.
One of the affected residents, 68-year-old Rene Jor, sustained second-degree burns on the back. Rene Sevida, 34, and Karl Abalan, 22, were bitten by dogs on their thigh while Fire Officer 3 Ronnel Ledesma had a punctured wound on a foot.
Rene and Uldirica Jor, Villa Luz Tabian and Ruel Ledesma owned the three totally damaged houses. Roselyn Flores’ house was partially damaged.
The blaze started from the wall of the house of Rene and Uldirica Jor, the fire station said.
Volunteer firefighting groups helped put out the fire. The cost of damage was estimated at around P80,000./PN
