ILOILO City – All because of Nutella.
A 27-year-old resident of Barangay Fatima, Jaro district was arrested for allegedly stealing sandwich spreads from a mall in Mandurriao.
Juan Alfonzo Escrupulo was detained at the district police station.
Around 2:25 p.m. on Sept. 2, Escrupulo took two containers of Nutella at SM Supermarket in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao and placed them in his black sling bag, a police report showed.
The items had a total cost of P799.
Escrupulo passed by the counter but did not pay for the items, the police report stated.
Selling assistant Jesus Cobarubias and security guard Marites Pindoc accosted the suspect and turned him over to the Mandurriao police.
Escrupulo was taken to the police station around 3:46 p.m./PN
