SAN JOSE, Antique – Capitol is now working to increase the daily wage of job order employees.

Its human resources office was asked to formulate a standard rate for job orders based on the minimum wage set by the Department of Labor and Employment, Vice Gov. Edgar Denosta said on Tuesday.

Job order workers of the provincial government were now renewing their contracts.

Gov. Rhodora Cadiao can issue an executive order imposing the salary raise, said the vice governor.

Currently job order employees at the capitol get P296 a day, which is below the daily minimum wage of P298.

That rate was first adopted in 1992 yet, Denosta said.

Aside from those renewing their contracts, there will be a few newly hired job order workers this year, he said. (PNA)
