Antique curfew hours shortened; drinking of liquor OK until 10 p.m.

ANTIQUE – With the province now under pandemic Alert Level 2 (until Nov. 30), provincial government shortened the curfew to just four hours from 12 midnight to 4 a.m.

The previous curfew hours were from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

In Executive Order (EO) No. 206-A issued on Nov. 15, Gov. Rhodora Cadiao also listed those exempted from the curfew. These were the following:

* authorized persons outside of residence

* nightshift essential workers

* persons with medical needs or emergencies

* persons availing themselves of urgent legal aid

The EO also allowed the drinking of liquor in public places until 10 p.m. Previously, it was only until 9 p.m.

“Let’s give more time to our fellow Antiqueños to enjoy, especially nga rapit lamang mag-umpisa ang aton nga Binirayan and basi mabitin man ka lagaw ang aton mga kasimanwa,” said Cadiao.

But the governor reminded Antiqueño, “Basta nga ma-observe lang gid sanda ka standard health protocols.”

She was referring to physical distancing and the wearing of facemask.

The provincial government urged the Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) to help enforce these health protocols, the curfew and the hour limits when people could drink liquor in public.

As of Nov. 17, Antique had 58 active coronavirus disease cases, 5,770 cases that recovered and 295 cases that died./PN
