Antique police aim to be model for sectoral drug clearing drive

SAN JOSE, Antique – The Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO) is determined to become a model for the sectoral drug clearing campaign of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).

This was after PRO-6 former director Chief Superintendent Caesar Hawthorne Binag last week challenged the APPO to subject its personnel to a random drug test.

APPO director Superintendent Norby Escobar on Friday said the sectoral drug clearing campaign seeks to further strengthen the antidrug campaign by reaching out to sectoral groups.

This is to ensure that the members of various community sectors are drug-free.

“Mechanics for this is being finalized now at the police regional office,” Escobar said.

He added that around 600 APPO personnel will be subjected to a random drug test soon.

“We are now requesting test kits from the crime laboratory,” said Escobar. (With a report from PNA/PN)
