ANTIQUE – The fifth most wanted person in the province for sexual violence was arrested by the San Jose Municipal Police Station (MPS) around 4:38 p.m. on June 25 in Barangay Funda-Dalipe, San Jose town.
The suspect, a 34-year-old construction worker identified by the alias “Totoy,” is a resident of Barangay Bariri, San Jose. He is facing two counts of rape under arrest warrants issued by Judge Jojo Cruz Cruzat of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 11, 6th Judicial Region in San Jose, Antique.
The suspect is currently in police custody for documentation and legal processing, and will be turned over to the concerned court. No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
According to Major Renato Monreal II, chief of San Jose MPS, Totoy allegedly raped and sexually abused his 11-year-old child multiple times in 2023. The crime came to light after the child’s grandmother reported the incident to authorities, Monreal added.
The arrest was made in coordination with the Antique Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit.
