ILOILO City – A .38-caliber revolver with six bullets was found in the bag of a roll-on, roll-off vessel passenger at the port of Dumangas, Iloilo.
The 54-year-old Elmer Biñas of Barangay Hamod, Batad town was detained at the municipal police station. He failed to show his permit to carry firearms outside of residence, a police report showed.
Biñas was about to board the ro-ro vessel around 8:55 a.m. on Tuesday when security guard Bencer Escalada held him after the X-ray machine at the port in Barangay Sapao detected the gun in his bag.
Biñas was facing a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
