MANILA – After making it three-in-a-row, San Miguel Beermen is not about to end its dominance in the PBA Philippine Cup as it aims to further extend its supremacy in the conference.
Beermen moved closer to a rare four-peat in the All-Filipino conference after disposing of sister team Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings 100-94 in Game 5 of their best-of-seven semifinals series on Saturday evening.
San Miguel veteran Arwind Santos said they have the tools to extend their Philippine Cup reign to four years and even further with the availability of Filipino-German center Christian Standhardinger next year.
Malay natin, kapag nakuha namin ’to, nandoon na tayo sa five-peat,” he said.
Moreover Santos said they will use lessons from their three previous championships in their battle against either Magnolia Hotshots or NLEX Road Warriors in the best-of-seven Finals.
