ASIALINK continued its strong start in the 2018 Iloilo Basketball Club Association (IBCA) Invitational League after beating Crossword 77-56 at the Barangay Zamora gym in Iloilo City.

Behind the strong performances of Jake Fuertes, Cedie Eraga, Ian Doce, Bryan Andrade, and Ian largo, Asialink turned to its torrid shooting to waylay the struggling Crossword on Friday.

“So far, so good for our guys, but we cannot be complacent because we have a goal, which is to win the championship and to play in the Champions Cup,” said Asialink team manager Philip Doce Punzalan.

In other matches, MBC Snipers also kept its unbeaten slate after defeating JRH Eagles 81-64 while UK Juniors tallied its second consecutive victory at the expense of Pitbull City Proper 72-67.

At the end of the games, Asialink stayed on top with 3-0 followed by MBC Snipers (2-0), UK Sports Juniors (2-1), Legaspi Ballers (1-1), UK Sports Basketball Club (1-1), JRH Eagles (0-1), Pitbull City Proper (0-2), and Crossworld (0-3).

Action resumes on Tuesday with MBC Snipers aiming for its third straight win against UK Sports Basketball Club, Asialink facing Legaspi Ballers, and Pitbull City Proper taking on JRH Eagles.

The IBCA Invitational League champion will earn a slot in the Champions Cup of the Panay Sports Association, which was scheduled tentatively in March./PN
