BACOLOD City – An Australian businessman was stabbed to death in Sitio Ilawod, Barangay To-oy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Police are now running after the suspect: the businessman’s disgruntled male helper.

Robert Flores, 20, of Barangay Carol-an, Kabankalan City fled after attacking Warren Hill, 74, around 12:54 p.m. on March 18, police said.

Flores remains at large as of this writing.

Hill, owner of Woodhenge Fresh Eggs Corp., was declared dead at the Governor Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital.

Witnesses said Flores was in the Australian’s residential and business compound around the time of the crime, police said.

Hill learned from wife Ronalyn that Flores was planning to sleep with their female helper Evelyn Rivera. He confronted Flores and a heated argument ensued.

The businessman fired Flores. This prompted the latter to draw a double-bladed knife from his waist and stabbed his boss repeatedly, police said.

Hill had wounds on the chest and left arm. Flores ran toward a nearby sugarcane field./PN
