BACOLOD City – A seven-month-old baby girl fell off a motorcycle and subsequently crushed by a truck in Barangay Payao, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Police asked that the family and baby girl not be identified.
According to traffic investigators of the Binalbagan police station, the father was the one driving the motorcycle while the mother was the one holding the baby at the time of the accident.
The father tried to overtake a truck along a pedestrian lane and did not notice that a person was crossing the road.
He lost control of the motorcycle in an attempt to avoid the truck, causing them to crash.
The baby was accidentally dropped by the mother; she was subsequently ran over by the truck, killing her on the spot.
The parents sustained minor injuries.
The truck driver, 38-year-old Noel Pabores, turned himself in to the police./PN
