Bacolod brgy, SK officials to assume posts on Nov. 11

BACOLOD City – The newly elected barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in this city will officially assume their posts on Nov. 11, according to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Ma. Maredith Joy Madayag, DILG Bacolod director, told the media that once the City Assessment and Transition Team (CATT) is done with its task, the new set of officials can assume their position.

“This is also after they all have taken their oath of office,” she added.

Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Nov. 1 issued a memorandum order to Atty. Jeremae Ann Ceriaco, acting city accountant, to fast-track the transition.

The mayor’s order is pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 2023-166 dated Oct. 31, 2023, issued by the DILG central office for all sitting and outgoing barangay and SK officials.

Under the memorandum, the city accountant serves as the CATT Chairperson, who will coordinate and collaborate with the DILG City Director and other members of the CATT in the conduct of the following:

* Final inventory and submission of the accomplished barangay and SK inventory and turnover Form No. 2 by the Barangay Inventory Team and SK Inventory Team, and the conduct of assessment and inventory by the CATT within three weeks from proclamation

* Conduct the final assessment and inventory of the barangay and SK financial records, documents, properties, and money accountabilities.

Meanwhile, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 10, the DILG will conduct training for all newly elected SK officials, Madayag said.

And, at 6 p.m., a mass oath-taking to be administered by Benitez will be held at the SMX Convention Center in SM City-Bacolod./PN
