Bacolod launches 5th ‘Vax-i’

BACOLOD City – This city’s mobile coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination drive continues.

It now has five “Vax-i” buses, with the latest lunched on Sept. 13.

Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI) provided the fifth bus.

Vax-i is among the several innovations introduced by the Emergency Operations Center and the COVID-19 Vaccination Council to boost the city’s vaccination capacity.

Vax-i buses drive around the city, with doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers on board, who administer COVID-19 vaccines to workers in various sectors.

“The fight against COVID-19 is a race against time. This (VAX-i) is another way to accelerate our vaccination program. We have to search for them (vaccinees). If our citizens cannot go to our vaccination center, our vaccination center – thru the VAX-i buses– will go to them,” said Mayor Evelio Leonardia./PN
