Bacolod sets deadline for ‘Undas’ vendors’ special permits

BACOLOD City – The city government has announced that the processing of special permits for flower, food, and candle vendors during the Undas 2025 observance will only be accepted until today, October 28.

City Administrator Atty. Mark Mayo said yesterday, October 27, that vendors selling in designated areas must secure their permits before the deadline.

“Tomorrow (referring to today, October 28) is the last day for the application of special permits,” Mayo said.

Last week, the Sangguniang Panlungsod approved a measure designating eight areas where vendors will be allowed to sell their goods. These are:

* Libertad – along Hernaez and Mabini Streets

* Barangay Handumanan Cemetery

* Barangay Granada Cemetery

* Plaza – along San Juan and Gonzaga Streets

* Burgos – Cemetery and Public Market areas

As of October 27, a total of 138 vendors had already applied for permits, which are expected to be released today. Mayo added that more applicants are anticipated before the deadline.

He said flower vendors will be allowed to operate from October 29 to November 2, while food and candle vendors can sell from October 31 to November 2.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod Traffic and Transport Management Department (BTTMD) is set to issue a traffic advisory regarding rerouting and road closures from October 31 to November 2, particularly in the vicinity of Burgos Cemetery along Burgos Street./PN
