BACOLOD City – The Office of the Building Official (OBO) conducted an inspection at the Injection Point 1 of the Bacolod Bulk Water, Inc. (BBWI) in Barangay Granada yesterday.
The inspection, which was led by Engineer Nestor Velez of the OBO, found that the water plant built in the village did not follow the original building plan.
But OBO head Isidro Sun Jr. said it was only the “little details.”
Nevertheless, OBO required BBWI to submit the water plant’s “as built plan.”
Sun added that the final evaluation of the inspection team was submitted to him yesterday. Sun, however, failed to elaborate the other details of the evaluation.
The inspection was in relation to BBWI’s application for a certificate of occupancy.
Without the certificate, the city’s bulk water project contractor cannot operate, Sun stressed.
OBO has issued a stoppage order to BBWI on Nov. 28 after an inspection on the same day discovered that the contractor has not yet secured the certificate of occupancy.
BBWI received the order the next day.
BBWI chairman Ryan Yapkianwee and Bacolod City Water District assistant general manager Jenelyn Gemora said the Injection Point 1 will start delivering water across the city after the test run is completed on Dec. 3.
The “full operation” did not push through, however, pending approval of BBWI’s application for the certificate.
BBWI has conducted a test run starting last month to determine the problems that may arise when the Injection Point 1 begins supplying bulk water to the city./PN
