Be careful of new friends

IRANIAN protesters are to be congratulated on their bravery but should be warned to be cautious about planning to rely too much on President Donald Trump of the United States.

President Trump has claimed to have stopped eight wars already although many are doubtful about these claims. As is evident, even in just this region, solving wars by negotiation or attack is very difficult.

There is also the commitment he can make apart from sending in troops to take over as he is also involved with Venezuela, Ukraine, Israel and their wars but with little real success. Much of his activity including inside his country seems to be a means of distracting coverage from the Epstein files.

Not always is “the enemy of my enemy my friend”.

ICE has to go

Today we saw the evil that President Trump unleashed with the ICE people. Murder is murder.

With the exception of COVID times, the only good person who wore a mask was the Lone Ranger but he was fictional.

The reality is the ICE agents go around masked. Are they masked because they are ashamed? Because they don’t want their family to know what they do? Or because they are afraid of the law eventually catching up with them?

There’s the police, the army, the lawyers and judges that do their best to protect people. ICE drags off people to unknown locations, to dark cells, and they kill people.

Most of the so-called “illegal” immigrants are doing menial jobs that no one else would do. Let’s protect those that need protection. Let’s get rid of ICE and their evil.

Appeal to the umpires group?

It appears that diplomacy, the law of the land, international law, and even common sense haven’t stopped Donald Trump authorising an “invasion” of Venezuela, so maybe an alternative Authority could be called upon.

Perhaps Venezuela, the 48th ranked soccer country, should ask FIFA to remind Trump that winning the FIFA Peace Prize presumes you will be nice to other soccer playing countries.

If people think sports being involved in political issues is meaningless they should remember the Cricket and Rugby boycotts of South Africa and the Olympic boycotts of Russia.

A few words

Donald Trump has publically said so much about his great project to kidnap Nicolas Maduro and then run/steal Venezuela’s oil resources. So much said and so much for us to worry about.

President Maduro has only said, “Happy New Year” that we have heard and that’s probably all we will hear from him for a while.

Would fewer words in total, but honestly at a negotiating table have been a better approach? I doubt that it would have been possible or successful.

Don’t look over there?

How desperate is Donald Trump for another distraction from the Epstein files? Invading a foreign country, kidnapping its leader and his wife and risking yet another war seems a serious misstep.

Intending to solve two wars the day he started working and spending months achieving little progress, claiming to have stopped eight wars although this is not substantiated, and now risking starting another war might explain why there is a Department of War rather than a Department of Defence.

Conflicts must be solved, not bombed into oblivion, along with their citizens. Which country will be next?/PN
