ILOILO – A man found dead in Barangay Quianan, San Joaquin has been identified. 

Jumar Blanco, 40, of Zone 5, Balantang, Jaro, Iloilo City was temporarily residing in Roxas City, Capiz.

The victim was positively identified by his live-in partner and his father on Sunday morning.

Blanco had charges for illegal drugs, illegal possession of firearms and usurpation of authority in Jaro, Iloilo City around October last year.

On Saturday, June 3, around 8 a.m., a man with his head wrapped in a garbage bag was found.

“Isa ka residente sang nasambit nga barangay ang nakakita sa higad karsada kay sang aga nga to nagapakadto siya sa uma,” said Police Captain Felix Perez, chief of the San Joaquin Municipal Police Station, in an interview with Panay News.

The victim’s was without any bags, wallets, or IDs.

“Sa kung paano siya nakalab-ot sa area kung diin siya nakita, amo pa ina ang gina imbestigaran ta kay katapusan nakita ang biktima didto sa ila balay sang (June 2) halin pa sa Roxas,” added the San Joaquin police chief.

Initial investigation by the Scene of Crime Operatives (SOCO) showed that Blanco died of asphyxiation.

“Pag-examine sang SOCO sa funeral homes, ang ila findings is na-suffocate ang biktima,” Perez said.

He added: “Subong nga na-identify ta na siya, ma-focus ta sa kung diin nga angulo para madakpan ang naghimo. Ma-conduct kita sang imbestigasyon kung ano gid ang kabangdanan kag ano gid ang motibo.”/PN
