ILOILO City – A resident of Barangay Airport, Mandurriao was arrested for hacking a neighbor, a police report showed.
The 47-year-old Ruben Dario was accused of attacking Norman Peldonia, 47.
Dario swung a 19-inch bolo at Peldonia when they came across each other in their village at around 5:50 a.m. Saturday, but the latter was not hit, police said, citing witnesses.
The two then grappled for the weapon until Dario was eventually able to strike Peldonia on the left foot, stated the police report.
Peldonia was brought to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao while Dario was arrested and taken to the district police station.
From what the investigators have so far gathered, Dario was suffering from nervous breakdown. Last year, they leaned, the suspect also hacked a high school student in their barangay./PN
