BACOLOD City – In Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, a 17-year-old girl and her boyfriend were wounded when the latter’s elder brother attacked them.
Police were still looking into the motive of suspect James Mahilum, 22, who was arrested after the incident at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Initial investigation showed Mahilum does not want boyfriend Rey Coraza, 23, for his younger sister Mary Jean.
Mary Jean sustained hack wounds on her arms, shoulder and other parts of the body, said Chief Inspector Rocky Desear, Cadiz police head. She was taken to the Cadiz District Hospital.
Mahilum also allegedly struck Coraza with a hard object on the body. Coraza was taken to the same hospital, police said.
The suspect was drunk at the time of the attack, initial investigation showed./PN
