ILOILO City – Police arrested two drug suspects in Barangay Jalandoni Wilson, City Proper district on Tuesday night, July 16.
Lieutenant Nick Gallego, team leader of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit, identified the suspects as brothers-in-law Joelbert Dorado, 29, a resident of the district’s Barangay Rizal Pala-pala 1, and Carmelo Flagne of Barangay Ibarra.
Authorities recovered P170,000 worth of suspected shabu and P6,000 in buy-bust money.
Gallego said Dorado was arrested for a robbery charge in 2016 while Flagne was previously jailed for illegal drugs case in 2018. They were released from jail in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
Dorado and Flagne are now detained at the custodial facility of Iloilo City Police Station 1, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
