BAROTAC Nuevo National Comprehensive High School (BNNCHS) won the 2017 I, Pagasa Football Club Invitational Futsal Cup U-17 girls event in the Power House Gym at Gaisano Capital in Iloilo City.
BNNCHS captured the championship after defeating Santa Barbara Futbolilits in a tightly contested gold medal match on Dec. 28. Santa Barbara National Comprehensive High School (SBNCHS) settled for third place.
Cabatuan Football Club-B claimed the U-17 boys crown while Iloilo City School United (ICSU) stamped class in the U-15 boys.
Cabatuan-B dominated over ICSU in a shootout victory. Central Philippine University settled for third place after beating Zero Percent FC via toss coin.
ICSU was leading in the last couple minutes until Cabatuan evened the score a few seconds before the final whistle to force a penalty shootout.
Other teams in the U-17 boys were Assumption Iloilo High School, Ateneo LZ United, Cabatuan FC-A, Iloilo National High School, Iloilo Young Booters A and B, New Lucena National Comprehensive High School, and Santa Barbara FC.
ICSU won U-15 boys by defeating Santa Barbara FC. Cabatuan FC claimed the bronze medal and the fair-play award.
Other U-15 teams ICSU defeated were Ateneo De Iloilo, CPU, Guimbal FC, Janiuaynon Defenders Football Club, Inc., and Iloilo Young Booters.
BNNCHS and Futbolilits ended the elimination round on top of the standings with identical 3-1 win-loss slates, while SBNCHS and Tigbauan finished on third and fourth places, respectively.
In the semifinals, BNNCHS scored a lopsided victory over SBNCHS while Futbolilits outscored Tigbauan.
Other teams in U-17 girls were Estancia FC, Guimbal FC, Iloilo City National High School, Jalandoni Memorial National High School, Janiuaynon Defenders FC, Inc., Kalibo Sakeros FC, and Western Institute of Technology.
