BACOLOD City – A 27-year-old member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) was stabbed to death on New Year’s Day in Purok Cubay, Barangay Sta. Rosa, Murcia, Negros Occidental.
Genno Garcia, a resident of the said place, succumbed to a fatal stab wound on his left armpit. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Murcia Rural Health Unit.
According to the initial investigation of the Murcia Police Station (MPS), the victim and the suspect identified as Reynaldo Aguisan, 33, also a resident of Barangay Sta. Rosa, had a heated argument regarding the loud noise from the former’s motorcycle open-pipe muffler.
Based on eyewitness accounts, the suspect suddenly drew a knife and attacked the victim around 1:30 a.m.
The suspect fled after the incident.
Murcia police conducted a manhunt operation, which later ended in the arrest of Aguisan.
