Capiz cops in full alert for May 13 elections

The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) deploys its security forces in various parts of the province during a send-off ceremony on May 7. ROXAS City – Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) director Colonel Canilo Fuentes said they are now ready to ensure safe, orderly and credible elections on Monday.

According to Fuentes, they are currently focusing on five towns in the province tagged as “areas of immediate concern.”

“We are observing tight security measures in the towns of Tapaz, Maayon, Cuartero, Pilar, and President Roxas,” said Fuentes.

He noted that aside from officers of the CPPO, the Police Regional Office 6 also sent 404 police augmentation force to render their election duties.

On May 7, the CPPO held a send-off ceremony for the deployment of its police force for the midterm polls.

Capiz Police Information Officer Donna Asmod meanwhile said 20 individuals were already apprehended since the start of the election gun ban. (With a report from PIA/PN)
