ROXAS City – Planning and workshops began as local government units across Capiz started formulating their respective three-year Peace and Order and Public Safety plans.
Field officers of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Capiz were leading orientation and plan-formulation activities in the local governments where they were assigned, a regional officer said.
“All LGUs (local government units) were required to submit the plan based on the DILG Memorandum Circular 2015-128,” said Erwin Bonifacio.
The deadline is on Jan. 31.
All local Peace and Order Councils must formulate the plan within 100 days upon the assumption of office of local chief executives after the May 2016 election, Bonifacio told a recent meeting of government information officers.
The plan shall be carried out from January 2017 to December 2019.
Recently the DILG-Capiz, led by Provincial Director Clyne Deocampo, and the Capiz Association of Local Planning Development Coordinators, Inc. held a two-day Peace and Order and Public Safety plan formulation workshop.
Planning and development coordinators, chiefs of police, health officers, and social welfare and development officers from various local governments attended.
Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, provincial police director, said the plan sets the direction of local peace and order initiatives. (PIA/PN)
