CAPIZ — Capiz Gov. Fredenil H. Castro met with top officials of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to discuss the province’s anti-illegal drug initiatives and the possible allocation of a dedicated lot for the agency’s provincial headquarters.
The meeting was held on August 28, at the Provincial Capitol and focused on identifying a suitable property that would serve as PDEA Capiz’s operational hub and administrative office.
The proposed permanent facility is expected to strengthen the agency’s operational readiness, streamline intelligence coordination and improve public service delivery across the province’s municipalities.
Castro emphasized the importance of providing PDEA with a permanent and fully equipped base to make drug enforcement efforts more organized, efficient and sustainable.
He said a stable home base would provide an essential foundation for long-term law enforcement efficiency and public safety.
The meeting brought together PDEA Deputy Director General for Operations Assistant Secretary Renato Gumban and Regional Director Ralph Rommel Torres.
Also representing the agency were PDEA Capiz Provincial Officer Jury Rocamora, Assistant Provincial Officer Dennis Parreñas and Barangay Drug Clearing Officer Nemae Trinidad.
The participation of barangay drug-clearing personnel highlighted the provincial government’s focus on both enforcement operations and community-level initiatives aimed at maintaining drug-cleared communities.
The Provincial Government of Capiz said its support for a dedicated PDEA facility underscores its commitment to strengthening coordination with national government agencies in addressing the illegal drug problem.
The initiative is also expected to contribute to sustained peace and security and promote the welfare of Capiz residents./PN
