ILOILO City – The police’s top high-value drug target in the province of Capiz was arrested in Barangay Tanque, Roxas City.
Allan Albaladejo, 44, of Barangay Bato, Panay, Capiz was detained at the Roxas City police station following a buy-bust operation.
He sold a sachet of shabu for P1,000 to an undercover police officer of the Capiz Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Superintendent Giovanni Musico.
Albaladejo tried to run away but policemen immediately stopped him.
“We have been targeting him for quite some time but he was too slippery. He was our No. 1 suspected drug personality,” said Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, Capiz police director.
The police recovered from Albaladejo around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday seven big sachets of shabu worth P200 thousand, P8,195 cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of shabu, illegal drug paraphernalia, a .45 pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, and ammunitions.
“According to Albaladejo his supplier was from Iloilo City but he did not give a name,” said Nacion.
The suspect faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency previously revealed that among the main sources of illegal drugs in Iloilo City were in Barangay Desamparados, Jaro district; Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district; and Barangay Tanza Esperanza, City Proper.
Barangay Bakhaw is where suspected drug lord Richard Prevendido resides although he is currently in hiding.
Barangay Tanza Esperanza, on the other hand, was where slain suspected drug lord Melvin Odicta Sr. resided.
Odicta was shot to death by still unidentified armed men at the jetty port of Barangay Caticlan in Malay, Aklan in August last year.
Nacion said his office received reports that Albaladejo also had a contact in Metro Manila.
In an Aug. 7, 2016 speech, President Rodrigo Duterte tagged Iloilo City as the “most shabu-lized” in the country. Three weeks after, on Aug. 29, 2016 Odicta was killed.
In another police antidrug operation, a village councilman was arrested yesterday for shabu in Barangay Tambak, New Washington, Aklan.
Audenes Crispino, a 35-year-old kagawad in Barangay Ibao, Lezo, Aklan was detained at the New Washington police station after selling to an undercover police officer a sachet of shabu around 12:30 a.m.
Crispino’s two companions were arrested, too – Danilo Altar, 33, of Camansi Sur, Numancia, Aklan and Joey Victoriano, 46, of Barangay Ibao, Lezo.
