“We have decided to declare the town in a state of calamity considering that the red tide crippled the livelihood and food security not only of the inhabitant of the island but as well as those in the mainland,” hambal ni Betita.
Nahibaluan nga pagpangisda ang mayor ngapangabuhian sang mga tawo sa Carles rason nga madamo sa ila ang apektado sang red tide.
Angut sini, nakigsapol ang alkalde kanday Gob. Arthur Defensor Sr. kag Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 6 Regional Director Remia Appari kahapon para planuhon ang ihatag nga bulig sa mga apektado nga manogpangisda gikan sa mga barangay Granada, Asluman, Gabi, kag Lantangan.
Nakasugtan nila nga ang probinsya pinaagi sa Provincial Agriculture’s Office kag Provincial Social Welfare and Development mahatag sang relief goods sa 360 ka mga pamilya nga apektado sang red tide.
Nagpadala man ang BFAR-6, sunu kay Appari, sang ila mga tinawo para mag-organisar sang mga apektado nga mga pumoluyo para sa cash-for-work program.
Luwas diri, ang BFAR kaupod ang Department of Trade and Industry kag Department of Tourism nagaplano nga magbutang one-stop shop para sa mga manogpangisda kag iban pa nga mga produkto sa isla./PB
