CHARLOTTE Hornets snapped Toronto Raptors’ nine-game winning streak with a 118-111 overtime victory in the 2025-26 NBA regular season on Saturday night (Sunday in the Philippines) at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Miles Bridges led Charlotte with 35 points, including three three-pointers, along with three assists and a steal, as the Hornets secured their second consecutive win to improve to 6-14.
Rookie Kon Knueppel added 20 points and hit four three-pointers, while Collin Sexton came off the bench to score 18. LaMelo Ball finished with 14 points.
Knueppel forced overtime with a late three-pointer, and the Hornets immediately took control in the extra session with back-to-back baskets from Bridges to go up 109-106.
After Toronto trimmed the lead to 109-108, Charlotte pulled away for good behind scores from Bridges, Sexton, and Knueppel, building a 118-111 cushion inside the final minute.
Scottie Barnes paced the Raptors with 30 points, while Brandon Ingram and Immanuel Quickley each added 22 as Toronto dropped to 14-6 after seeing its lengthy streak halted.
Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards scored 39 points, including an unlikely three-pointer that sealed the game, and the Minnesota Timberwolves held off the Boston Celtics 119-115.
With the Timberwolves ahead 115-112 and the shot clock winding down, Edwards briefly lost his dribble but quickly picked up the ball and lofted a 3-point prayer over Derrick White that went in with 14 seconds left.
Julius Randle had 16 points and Donte DiVincenzo added 15 for the Timberwolves, who put six players in double figures and beat a team with a .500 or better record for the first time in eight tries this season.
Jaylen Brown tied a season high with 41 points for Boston, which lost for just the second time in seven games. Neemias Queta tied a career best with 19 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds. White scored 16./PN
