BORACAY – A 20-year-old Chinese man drowned at Station 3 in this island resort, a police report showed.
The local who found Xuan Zhou tried to revive him, but to no avail.
Xuan Zhou was taken to the Ciriaco S. Tirol Sr. Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The 29-year-old Anthony Domingo found the foreigner at Bamboo Resort at around 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday.
Domingo, a native of Mindoro province staying in Barangay Balabag, told the police he thought Xuan Zhou was just swimming but the latter’s head had been submerged in the water for minutes.
He said he tapped Xuan Zhou but the Chinese man failed to respond. That was when he brought him to the shore and performed a CPR on him.
Responding personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Boracay Fire Rescue and Ambulance Volunteers brought Xuan Zhou to the island hospital.
Dr. Arielle Marie Therese Castañeda pronounced the foreigner dead at around 6:32 p.m., the police report stated. (Daryl Lasafin/PN)
