BACOLOD City – Two men who claimed they were assets of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Negros Occidental were arrested by the Binalbagan police on Monday for possession of four unlicensed firearms and grenade.
Manuel Estrella Jr., a resident of Sitio Tap-ok, Barangay Canmoros, Binalbagan; and Rodney Hernaiz of Sitio Sawangan, Barangay Payao in the town failed to produce identification cards or any mission order from the CIDG.
The suspects also failed to present any legal documents for their firearms, police disclosed.
Confiscated from them were two improvised .9mm pistols, one .357 revolver, one .22 rifle loaded with ammunitions, and one fragmentation grenade.
Senior Inspector Gerard Moya said the suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
