BACOLOD City – Pulling out the augmentation forces did not affect the current peace and order situation in the city, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) said in a statement.

Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, officer-in-charge of the BCPO, said all 10 police stations are maximizing whatever resources they have to make sure that the peace and order situation in the city is maintained and even improved.

Each police station is making sure that they monitor incidents within their respective assigned areas.

About 300 security personnel from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) were deployed to the city in October last year to help the BCPO guard the MassKara Festival.

It was the same time when armed robbery incidents were rampant in the city.

From then on, the PRO-6 augmentation forces assisted the local police in securing the city.

This month, however, PRO-6 pulled out the additional personnel in Bacolod and assigned them in Iloilo City to secure the Dinagyang Festival.

Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran earlier expressed his concern over the pulling out of the additional security personnel.

Familiaran said they contribute a “big help” in maintaining peace and order in the city.

Familiaran said he would request the additional personnel’s return to the city after the Dinagyang Festival.

The festival’s highlights will be on Jan. 27 and 28./PN
