ILOILO City – An altercation between two groups in City Proper led one of them to attack the other, a police report showed.

Rey Vincent Oribe, 24, and Rhodcel Juliene Besana, 21, reported to the police that they were walking with friends at around 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 when they chanced upon a group of “more or less 20 persons.”

A heated argument ensued between the two groups, they said.

A member of the latter group suddenly punched Oribe on the right ear and left face, and then turned to Besana to punch her on the right side of the body, stated the police report.

Oribe was from Phase II, Villa Carolina Subdivision, Barangay Yulo-Drive, Arevalo district, while Besana was from Ybiernas Street, Barangay Inday, City Proper.

The group of unidentified persons then fled toward the Tanza cemetery, said the complainants.

Oribe and Besana sustained injuries but refused medical treatment, police said./PN
