CLAUDINE Barretto revealed that she was recently hospitalized amid a bout of depression as she asked the public to refrain from “judging” her situation.
Barretto opened up to her Instagram followers about her current mental health struggle as she gave a glimpse of her recent hospitalization.
In the video she posted on Sunday, Aug. 24, Barretto was captured in a tight embrace with her doctor. In the next frame, the actress, whose sadness was vividly visible on her face, was seen lying in the hospital bed.
As she lay there, Barretto’s son Noah tried to comfort his mother by kissing her, putting socks on her feet, and giving her a blanket.
“Yes, this is what depression looks like. So please don’t judge. We all need more understanding and compassion,” Barretto captioned her post.
In the comments section, netizens and celebrities including Vilma Santos, Vina Morales, and Small Laude extended messages of comfort to Barretto. “Hi, my dearest baby Claude. We are all here loving you. We are all here for you. Tomorrow is another day! Be happy, smile, and enjoy life because you are blessed. I love you!” expressed Santos.
“Sis, love and hugs for you. I will pray for you,” added Morales. Last year, Barretto shared that she had voluntarily admitted herself to a rehabilitation facility several times a few years back, not because of “drug addiction” but “post-traumatic stress disorder.”
The “Got 2 Believe” actress had also opened up about her depression several times. Last year, she also disclosed her experience with sexual harassment as she voiced support for recent victims of harassment, Rita Daniela and Sandro Muhlach.
