CLAUDINE Barretto declared that she will be loyal to herself in a series of cryptic posts, amid rumors that she had already parted ways with Milano Sanchez.
Barretto took to her Instagram account to express her heartbreak, fury, and eventual choice to prioritize herself in several posts. One of which includes a message to her mother Inday Barretto.
“I constantly have to remind myself that I am Inday Barretto’s daughter, that I could at least be half as strong as you. But no more crying for me Mom. No regrets just lessons learned,” she said.
In separate posts, the actress said she “should have known better” and was “drained down” by a certain someone. She added that she will “save her tears for another day,” in apparent reference to The Weeknd’s 2020 song “Save Your Tears.”
The “Milan” star also urged her followers to “love themselves” and that she doesn’t want to see someone’s face again.
“No one notices the battles you face [and] the pain behind your smile. No one [sees] your small wins to celebrate with you. So love yourself first. Always,” she wrote.
“I swore my loyalty to me, myself and I,” she said in another post.
Barretto and Sanchez — the younger brother of veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez — were said to have parted ways by showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin in an episode of her vlog “Showbiz Now Na.”
According to Fermin, the pair broke up due to Barretto’s alleged mistreatment of Sanchez’s longtime house helper. The columnist also claimed that the actress moved into Sanchez’s home at some point in their relationship.
Despite her cryptic posts, Barretto has yet to confirm or deny whether she and Sanchez have parted ways for good. (Hannah Mallorca © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
