ILOILO City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will begin operating from its new office at the Comelec Integrated Field Office inside the Iloilo City Government Complex in Barangay Taal, Molo district starting May 25, a move expected to centralize and speed up election-related transactions for the public.
The transfer will place the Office of the Election Officer (OEO)-Iloilo City together with the Comelec Iloilo Province and Comelec Regional Office 6 under one roof, turning the facility into what election officials described as a “one-stop shop” for clients.
“The public is hereby advised that all inquiries and other Comelec-related transactions shall henceforth be accommodated at the abovementioned address,” Comelec-Iloilo City said in its announcement.
Comelec Regional Office 6 earlier transferred to the building on Feb. 6 and currently occupies the third floor, while the Comelec Iloilo Province office moved on Feb. 12 and occupies the second floor.
The Comelec-Iloilo City office will occupy the first floor of the integrated field office building.
At present, the Comelec-Iloilo City office is renting space at the second floor of the Angeles Arcade Building along Mabini Street in Barangay Osmeña, Iloilo City.
According to Comelec regional election director Atty. Dennis Ausan, the consolidation of the three offices in one building is expected to make transactions faster and more accessible to the public./PN
