BACOLOD City – Police arrested a man on the national highway in Barangay 13, Victorias City, Negros Occidental over illegal possession of firearm.
The 27-year-old John Rey Hilado of Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental was on board a Honda XRM 125 motorcycle registered to Satnam Singh when police intercepted him in a checkpoint around 2:10 p.m. on Dec. 5.
Superintendent Herman Garbosa, Victorias City police chief, said they recovered from Hilado’s sling bag a .357-caliber S&W magnum revolver without serial number loaded with six bullets.
When further frisked, police recovered six more bullets from Hilado’s pocket.
He was detained at the Victorias City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
