BACOLOD City – The Murcia police has arrested the suspect in the killing of an unidentified man in a cock farm.
Around 5 a.m. on Thursday, Alexis Espuerta was collared in a raid in Purok Simaguan, Barangay Minoyan in the town.
Espuerta, who is a trainer of fighting cocks, fled from the cock farm after the incident.
Earlier this week, the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Public Safety Company arrested two other suspects, Jonard Espuerta and Armando Altaveros. Both disclosed that Alexis shot the victim on Dec. 10.
Jonard and Altaveros also said they attempted to hide the body of the victim in a sugar cane field around 200 meters away from the cock farm.
The Murcia police are still identifying the motive of the killing. They are also investigating if Renato De Los Reyes, a resident of the place and who was arrested for illegal possession of firearms this week, had a hand in the crime.
Three boxes of explosives powder, several live bullets of .50-caliber machine gun and one 12-gauge shotgun with eleven live bullets were recovered from De Los Reyes./PN
